SharePoint 2010 Hangs after Visual Studio 2010 F5 Debugging
Darrin Bishop pfont size="3" face="Tahoma"Lately I have been having some issues with debugging a fairly simple Visual Studio 2010/SharePoint 2010 project. Whenever I deploy the project to the farm, Internet Explorer launches, tries to connect to the SharePoint site and more often than not the web server times out before the debugger is attached and the site is up and running. Occasionally it loads after a long wait period but will normally time out before I get a chance to do any real debugging./f [read]. Posted: Thu, Jun 24th '10 |

SharePoint Team Blog Announces Important SP2 Issue
Darrin Bishop Last night Jeff Teper announced a SP2 issue where a product expiration date was improperly set. After installation the licensing may be set to Evaluation which will cause the farm to stop working after 180 days. MS is working on a hotfix, but in the mean time your farms are fine. Even if you fail to install the forthcoming hotfix your farm will not be accessible to users but your data is safe and secure until the patch is applied.

Darrin Bishop Windows 7 Release Candidate is available for download today. It looks like you will only be able to download from TechNet or MSDN until May 5. SPTechCon Day 3 Wrap Up

Darrin Bishop Time to call it a night here in San Francisco. Though I got in late today I did manage to run into a few friends here in the Hyatt. Bob Mixon and I ran into each other a few different times tonight. Good discussions on PerformancePoint, PowerShell and SharePoint. The W500 is the 15 inch rebirth of the T61P series which was the powerhouse line for ThinkPad. Not a bad deal, end-of-year, got a nice set of rebates and discounts.

Two New Asp.Net AJAX Books Going on the Shelf
Darrin Bishop Picked up our own SharePoint MVP Rob Foster's "ASP.Net 3.5 Ajax Unleashed" book for the ride home from MSDN DevCon. So far this seems to be a great introduction into ASP.Net Ajax. I have not spent that much time working with Ajax so I thought this would be a good read on the train.
