Can’t uninstall SharePoint 2007, Setup just quits

Today I ran into an issue where I had SharePoint 2007 installed on one of my Windows 2008 R2 application servers and I had deleted the SharePoint Central Administration content database without disconnecting it from the farm (using the SharePoint Configuration Wizard).

“You are not authorized to view this page” error after reinstalling .NET frameworks

In my Windows 2003 server SharePoint environment, I had the dreaded task of reinstalling all of my .NET frameworks (don’t ask why). After uninstalling and reinstalling all of the .NET Frameworks (2.0, 3.0 and 3.5), I kept getting an unauthorized page for my .NET web applications that had Windows Authentication enabled (specifically SharePoint 2007):

Error when creating new SharePoint 2010 Synchronization Connection: “MOSS MA not found”

If you are trying to configure a new synchronization connection in your SharePoint 2010 environment and you get the error:
“MOSS MA not found.”
Check that the Forefront Identity Manager Service is started in your services.msc (not sure why mine wasn’t started automatically).
But once I started it, I was able to create the connection with no problems although there seems to be an encoding problem on the Name when it lists the connections:

SharePoint Designer 2010 Error - “Master page editing has been disabled for this site”

By default in SharePoint Foundation 2010, site owners and designers don’t have access to edit the master pages for sites. You get the following error when you try to open the site in SharePoint Designer 2010 and try to edit the master page:
“Master page editing has been disabled for this site. Contact the site collection administrator to request permission.”
