No more background woes with dialog boxes in SharePoint 2010
Shane Perran In 2007 dialog boxes often inherited backgrounds that you had not anticipated, or wanted. It seems 2010 has a much simpler fix to work around this.
Adding the class: .s4-notdlg should force the background not to show in dialog windows.
I noticed Randy and Heather both posted on the topic already so no need to get any more in depth than this here. [read]. Posted: Mon, May 17th '10 |
For those that received an error on my website recently.
Shane Perran Some of you may have received a malware error while visiting my blog. There was an issue with either one of the themes, or comments (or both). The blog has been completely paved, and upgraded to fix this.
On a brighter note

Amanda and I are working on our SharePoint 2010 book, much the same as the Beginning 2007, just for 2010.

VMware Fusion + Windows 7 “Shutting Down Mode”
Shane Perran If ever find yourself stuck in an infinite loop while trying to shut down a VM in VMware Fusion you can get out of it by holding the (ALT or OPTION) key while selecting the “Shut Down Guest” from the Virtual Machine Menu. It will change to “Power Off”, just like hitting the power button.
This tip just came in handy, hope it helps. [read]. Posted: Thu, Oct 22nd '09 |

If you are using SharePoint 2007 + Windows 7 and getting SLOW transfer rates within document libraries…
Shane Perran If you are using windows 7 and moss 2007 you may find things get REALLY SLOW while moving files in document libraries. This rather obscure fix worked for me, maybe it will help you as well.
I spent some time today doing some work on a site whereby I needed to add a large amount of images to the style library of a SharePoint Site Collection. To speed up the process of course I would select the Open with Windows Explorer option so I could just paste the required files in with ease.

The most recent addition to my guitar collection (Martin D 35 - Johnny Cash Commemorative)
Shane Perran It will come as no surprise to anyone that knows me that I am a huge Johnny Cash fan. I’m also a big fan of guitar in general so I’m pretty excited about my most recent addition to my guitar collection.
I’ve been toiling over what high-end guitar to buy for the past few months, I had eyed the Johnny Cash Signature Martin D 35 a few months ago but dismissed it due to hefty price tag.
